Ware is a small town of less than 19,000 people located in east Hertfordshire, but has an extensive history. It has been said that Ware is one of the oldest continuously occupied sites in Europe. There is archaeological evidence that Ware has been occupied since Mesolithic times, that period ended in about 4000 BC. There was a substantial Roman settlement here with several buildings, including a temple. The modern name of the town dates from the Anglo-saxon period when weirs were built to stop the invading Vikings escaping in their long ships. Greenline Environmental are perfectly situated to service Ware from their headquarters near the M11 in Harlow with easy access to the M25 and A10.
Our waste collection and disposal services are for commercial businesses in the South East of England. All waste is transported directly to fully licensed transfer stations – nothing sent direct to landfill.

Ware has been mentioned in literature, both by Shakespeare in Twelfth night and in Chaucer’s Canterbury tales. In Twelfth night the ‘Great Bed’ was introduced. It is thought by scholars to be one of the earliest example of an advertising gimmick. The bed itself resided in at least 5 different inns before being sold to a showman in Hoddesdon. This bed ended up in the V and A museum from 1931 onwards.
