Greenline donates over 140 high-viz vests to local school

Pupils at Fawbert and Barnard Infants School in Sawbridgeworth are now a lot more visible on school trips thanks to the generosity of local businessman Darryn Hodges, who has donated over 140 hi-viz vests to the school, all clearly marked with the school logo and telephone number.

Mr Hodges, owner of Greenline Environmental waste management services in Harlow, decided to make this generous donation after being a parent helper on a trip last summer. He said:

“I didn’t realise how hard it could be to keep constant track of a small group of children until I assisted on a trip to Colchester Zoo and decided that hi-viz vests could be the answer. I spoke with the new Head Teacher and was delighted when she said the school could accept my donation. It’s a small contribution on my part but one I know the school can make great use of and that will help keep all pupils that little bit safer.”

Speaking about the donation, Head Teacher Ms Euesden said:

“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation. The vests proved invaluable recently when Year 2 pupils visited The Tower of London as part of this terms curriculum and will be used by all year groups for future excursions.”.
